Can SuSE support USB CD-RW? I've been searching SuSEFaq and found no answer THANKS
<snip> Freecom's USB2 hard drive works with 8.2. On boot, the drive is recognised and can be mounted. ACPI has to be disabled otherwise neither the USB nor the firewire drive is recognised. I would guess the CD-RW works in a similar way. Actually my daughter has a Freecom external USB 2 CD-RW. After connecting, heard two beeps. The system confirms that a SCSI device sr1 is recognised. The mount command is successful and the directory can be displayed. Hope this helps. Remember to switch ACPI though. LW999
