I am trying to get a ide CDRW, set up as a scsi drive, accessible to non-root user (with K3b).
Unfortunately only root seems to have access to the drive.
I tried to do a cdrecord -scanbus as user but it showed an error message.
I added +rw to /dev/sr0, but nothing changed...
I'm a bit lost, could someone give me some hints there ?
You will need to change the permissions on the cdrecord program. It will need to have the SUID set on it. But this may pose a security risk. Try this as root and then run the cdrecord command again. chmod u+s /usr/bin/cdrecord -- Marshall "Nothing is impossible, We just do not have all the anwsers to make the impossible, possible."
