I get a kernel panic while booting my SuSE 8.1 with kernel 2.4.19.
After having compiled the kernel I get the following messages when booting
without distinction the older kernel and the new one too.
Instead I can boot the box using the CD and choosing manual install, then
loading ips.o and aic7xxx.o modules and finally choosing start installed OS.
I use hardware RAID and LVM with reiser on a NetFinity.
