Hi Chris,
as a whole should not compete against other linux software but should compete against other OS's software.
Ever heard of a thing called "choice"?
Yes, I have. I still think this philosophy hurts Linux software overall. Its like re-inventing the wheel. I am a firm believer of software reuse. I believe that the Gnome project was started for fear that the QT library that KDE relies on would go proprietary. Now that is clearly not a issue but the 2 sides have squared off against each other. Personally I don't use either at present. I like using windowmaker at home. ~~Nick _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
