Hi,
I recently adquired a compaq lte 5300 laptop, right now it has win98 loaded but I am eagerly looking forward to install Linux on it..., so :
1) Does anybody did this before, I read on a few google searches that you have to boot from the floppy first and that it is tricky to install from the cd so probably I will have to work out a network install..
2) Does anybody know how well supported pcmcia modems are, I have a us robotics 33.6kbps which is installed under linux as a standard pcmcia modem
3) I believe pcmcia support for NICs is very good so I am not very worried at the time, but any suggestions on what pcmcia NIC to get?
Thanks,
Raul
