Well, Bernd ..any 2.4 kernel before 2.4.10 had a root exploit I believe and it would be inadvisable to use these. I'm not sure why your wanting to go so far back in version numbers for the kernel. The .19 kernel should have support for the devices that were supported with 2.4.3 or 2.4.9. If you need to compile a module for your kernel it's best to compile it against the new release of the 2.4.19 kernel because it's been patched for another root exploit that was announced about a week ago.
Boy, am I ever glad I wrote! My mind has been severly fried lately from little sleep, although that's no excuse for utter stupidity! I was looking at the first digit (2.4.(1)9 and seeing 2.4.1-9!?!?!). Ben, thanks so very much for pointing out the "now" very obvious!! Thanks, Bernd
