Seriously, this is driving me nuts! What does KDE store the info to launch programs at startup, so I can edit this out!
Have you tried to choose the option 'Start with an empty session' in KControl-KDE Components-Sessions Manager?
What I found was the strangest thing. I use gkrellm to monitor the PC. I always leave it on the desktop to restart upon login. After I started to log off with nothing running, and select to save session for future login, kmail no longer self launched. But the strange part is, if I start gkrellm, either from a term window, or using alt-F2, BOTH kmail and gkrellm launch!!
I will have to ivestigate this further! Any ideas how the two could be linked?
