* Paul Cooke (paul.cooke100@blueyonder.co.uk) [030316 13:11]: ->two questions: -> ->is it possible to download the nfs server packages and install them into the ->8.1 personal setup? and if so will the nfs server module appear in the yast2 ->menu or has that got to be downloaded separately? -> ->My hassle is this; I've got a lot of personal data stuck in my 8.1 personal ->box and i want to put the directories up for just a temporary share so I can ->easily transfer them to my new box. I had hoped to do a simple export like I ->can with my 8.0 pro box but there is no nfs server setup module in the ->advanced network menu for YAST2. -> ->otherwise I'll have to temporarilly put the relevant hard disk into my new box ->and get them across that way. You could tar up the files and just scp them from one box to the other. That would work just fine. You just have to have sshd running on the new machine and let it accept connections from the other machine. This would most likely save you a lot of time, effort and energy. :) Remember sftp and scp are your friends. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe..
