Folks, I am running SuSE 8.1 on a HP ze4220 laptop. When I interrogate <cardinfo> or /var/lib/pcmcia/stab I get Socket 0: Bromax OEM 11Mbps 802.11b WLAN Card (Prism 3) 0 wlan-ng prism2_cs 0 wlan0 IO: Ox100-Ox13f IRQ: 3 dev: wlan0 The WPC11 card is referenced in /etc/pcmcia/config, wlan-ng.conf & wlan-ng.conf.0 files as card "Linksys WPC11 11Mbps 802.11b WLAN Card" SuSE yast2 insists on assigning the card to eth-pcmcia-0. There is no reference in /dev/ to wlan0 nor do I know where to point to, etc, etc. Who do I bark at linux-wlan, Linksys, or SuSE? If it is Linksys, what do I want them to do? If it is SuSE, what configuration entries do I enter. Please could someone please explain what each of the entries mean and how am I supposed to find them. I have no idea of what is going wrong, nor where to start debugging this. Bob Stanfield 29 Ledge Lane Pipersville, PA 18947 Voice 610-294-9884 FAX 610-294-8119
