Have you checked to make sure that the network card is enabled in the
bios. The SiS 900 normally works fine in both windows and linux. Check to
make sure that the option exists in the bios as well. I once flashed an
ECS K7S5A with the bios for the motherboard version that did not have the
embedded NIC. This action removed the option from the bios. Fortunately,
I was able to reflash the motherboard with the correct bios and everything
was fine after that.
