As I haven't had any luck yet in getting the SiS 900 built-in NIC (Biostar mother board) on my daughter's Fujitsu-Siemens Celvin EasyPC to work yet, I am now trying with a USB 1.1 to Ethernet Adapter (Bafo BF-310) and SuSE 8.1, but am not having much luck with that either. This should work as I have looked at http://www.linux-usb.org and have noted that the driver supports "essentially all USB-Ethernet adapters supporting 100BaseT", which the Bafo does. I have done another clean install of SuSE 8.1, under which the USB-Ethernet adapter was not detected, but is listed in the YAST 2 hardware list correctly. I setup the USB-Ethernet adapter (eth-USB-0) manually, the SiS 900 (eth0) NIC was already configured by SuSE. At system shutdown, a message appears in the log that: "eth-USB-0 ifdown: could not get a valid interface name - skipped". What does this mean and what do I need to do to get this adapter to work? Anyone with USB to Ethernet adapter experience should be aware that this is not a laptop that I am trying to implement this on, but rather a so called "EasyPC". Cheers, Brian
