-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am having problems with particular premissions and am hoping someone can straighten me out. I'm sure I have just missed something simple. I have a server at work that has multiple users, some developers and some just apps users (through Exceed in Windows so they're ignorant of the Linux side). My problem is that I have a few directories that I want to set up so that developers have free reign but the users have no modification access. I have set the priviledges using "chmod 775 /dir/of/interest -R" and "chgrp dev /dir/of/interest -R" but it has not accomplished what I was wanting. I have added all the developers unames into /etc/group entry for group: "dev". However, the developers can only modify what is in the directory, the cannot create new files. Can anyone help straighten me out on this?? - -- Thanks in advance, D.C. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iEYEARECAAYFAj5mN/UACgkQz+5/PgMafClyFwCfdrapvtObfPgg8DSlbvLFp/jW jsMAoJq7bJoDyflKeDELCV18xz3dqYJO =SZLa -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
