Like we all have figured out, the only dumb question is the one not 
asked.  Basically, the kde menu is under /opt/kde3/share/applink, suse's 
are under /etc/opt/kde3/share/applink.  You could always right click on 
your desktop, create the .desktop file (link to application), then move 
it (as root) to the correct directory.  One nice thing about the SuSE 
menu is its integration with SuSEconfig and Yast.  HTH.
