How do I tell OpenOffice I'm not in England?

Every time I create a new document, I have to tell OpenOffice, first in the
format page dialog, then in the print dialog, that I use US letter paper, not
A4. I haven't been able to figure out how to change this default. Can
someone help me out? (I'm using SuSE 8.1.)
