Hi, My ISP forces me to use their proxy-server. You have to get an automatic configuration script at a specific server (http://pac.telenet.be:8080). I seem unable to configure this in Konquerer, so I can't get to the Internet. Anyone can suggest where to look for a solution ? My ISP only supports M$ & Mac. When I try to configure proxies manually, I get the same response from my gateway's DNS : two IP-adresses, for one name ?! That response is a relay from my ISP's DNS (I think). Could this be some hint ? If needed I can post captures from Ethereal concerning that DNS-response. Some background info : Suse V8.1-Pro, my proxy/firewall : WinNT/Wingate. My Windoze clients (Netscape/Explorer) can connect to the Internet, using that automatic configuration, using the same network.
Actually I would like to do an update of Suse, but since I can't get out, it's no point trying this, is there ?
Why don't you just try plugging proxy.telnet.be on port 8080 into the Konq proxy settings?? I think that's what it's trying to use. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S.
