Hi John - Well, I followed your advice - 3 times to be exact - and have not been able to rid myself of those unwanted files. ;-) In fact, now I have an additional set of "Local files" that simply mimic others I already have. Can I safely just remove the "Local files" category or will that cause some problems? I tried removing the dcjohan folder under inbox but that resulted in losing all my settings. I don't recall that folder in 1.1a, but then I might be mistaken. I also found that removing the .mozilla folder in ~ resulted in losing my address book. After much futzing around, I realized I could import from the old netscape folder, but that took some time. Now I have four address folders, but unfortunately mozilla does not list the one I want as default. Can you advise me as to how I select the one I want to be the default address book? Thanks for your suggestion and help. dave John LeMay wrote:
I now have a working version of 1.2.1 but find that I still have this cache folder displayed with either dozens of what look like memory addresses or just 4 lines that read like folder icon_CACHE_001_ through _003 plus _CACHE_MAP_
I'm also experiencing a freeze of of Mozilla if I try to do a message search.
Has anyone experienced either of these problems with 1.2.1?
Remove your old mozilla profile, which I assume you created with 1.1a, and restart 1.2.1. The moz profile is stored in ~/.mozilla. A quick "rm -rf .mozilla" from your home directory will do the trick. Oh, close mozilla before you do this - just in case. I'm guessing something got hosed up in the profile. Starting fresh should take care of it.
