Hi all, I have downloaded the 8.1 LiveEval cd ISO and burned it to cd. These are excellent to have when away from home or testing new hardware for compatibility to Linux. Anyway, I tried using the cd on an older K6-II 233mhz machine with a 2gb hd and Win98 installed on it. When getting to the hardware check and trying to find a suitable partition to write it's temporary files too, it has an error. Complains about not finding a suitable partition to write to and then goes into some sort of Perl error. The installation goes no further and will not even load. I have tried this same cd on my machine, with only SuSE installed and it works quite well. I have swapped the hard drive out on the old 233 machine and still get the same error. I even tried an old copy of the 7.2 LiveEval cd, which gives me the same error about a unsuitable partition to write too, but it does continue on with the setup to run SuSE without problems. So first question is: what is it with the "not a suitable partition" Second question: What's with the Perl error on the 8.1 cd Thanks, Patrick-- --- KMail v1.5 --- SuSE Linux Pro v8.1 --- Registered Linux User #225206 On any other day, that might seem strange...
