One of the small errors I encountered is that my CD-ROM drive is mounted to /dev/cdrecorder while my CD-writer is mounted to /dev/cdrom.
Is fixing this as simple as editing /etc/fstab from: /dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrecorder auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 to: /dev/cdrecorder /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrecorder auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0
Or would this break other configurations?
Do you have scsi- or ide cd-drives?
AFAIK they're both IDE-drives. Although they do show up under the scsi
header (as well as under the CDROM header) in YaST's hardware detection:
CD-ROM:
PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1610A
bus: SCSI
CD type: cdrom
Device name: /dev/sr0
Vendor: E-IDE
driver: ide-scsi
So I assume it's an IDE device with SCSI emulation (required for
Xcdroast)
CD-writer:
PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W1610A
bus: SCSI
CD type: cdrw
Device name: /dev/sr1
Vendor: PLEXTOR
driver: ide-scsi
btw, is there a way to get the hardware-detection output to file? It
would be nice not to have to run the detection every time you want to
look something up...
