I am still trying where is the option to take a screen shot or select a screen area.. and then store it as a new image.. sorry but I am new on this graphics stuff..
I started using "xv" for all these simple things. It won't do all the fancy stuff, but it sure doesn't take much memory, it does grabs in several ways, and makes organizing lists of grabs easy. On SuSE up through 7.3 (this box) it is the helper application on my Netscape. Using xv, I can pull any graphic off any display, either by pointing to it or else by windowing it. Mostly I use fvwm2 or Gnome, KDE only sometimes. With 8.0 and 8.1 (testing box) I am trying Mozilla, and don't yet have the helper application feature working correctly.

Ok, I am willing to learn how do you use gimp to get a screen shot?
I agree that gimp is a great graphic editor.

But Ksnapshot takes a ver small picture. Gimp is better. Gimp is like Adobe Photoshop for linux but free.

Ksnapshot or Xgrab.
I have used Ksnapshop before. It should be on your cd/dvd if it isn't already installed.
