SuSE NEVER released KDE 3.1. Such a major piece of software cannot be
considered "released" until it is officially included in the distribution and
shipped with it. Anyone that has tried to install KDE from source knows that
the interactions with the native system are massive, and take forever to fix.
The rpms that appear immediately after a KDE release are BOUND to create
problems, and those who install them (should) know and accept this fact.
The fact that these rpm's are made available on SuSE ftp servers is just a
convenience for those users who want to stay bleeding edge, SuSE was always
coherent in NOT providing updates through YOU, only security and bug fixes,
and I would like them to keep to this policy.
