Hi all, I tried setting up postfix and fetchmail to grab the mail from my ISP.(I use a dialup) This morning when I went to check my mail there were 150 messages, which I've had before so I wasn't too concerned. But, then i noticed half were duplicates. It seems postfix was grabbing them when i connected and then fetchmail was doing the same. I configured kppp to call fetchmail when it connected and before it disconnected.
No no no. Postfix does not fetch mail from pop/imap accounts, no way.
I tried to erase the info from yast2> network > mail (postfix) but it won't let me. it says it's writing the new configuration but then when i check again it's back to the same info as before. I think it happens when SuSEconfig runs but that's just a guess. Is there a file I can edit to remove the receiving options from postfix?
There are none such. What postfix does is send, and wait for incomming connections innitiated by the poster side - which can be external if you have a permament, real, address. It can not fetch mail from boxes. Read the fetchmail docs carefully, there are reference there about duplicated mails. Also, you could also be calling fetchmail from "/etc/ppp/poll.tcpip" as well. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
