I have a SuSE 8.1 box connected to the net via a Speedtouch USB modem, the SuSE way. I connect through smpppd / kinternet. It mostly works fine, except for the fact that the connection lasts a maximum of 30 something hours. This is a pain in the neck because I run a home webserver, with No-ip services. "pppd: LCP terminated by peer" : does this mean that i wad disconnected by my provider? Why does PPP disconnect after some time? Can I have it automatically reconnect? How? Thanks FX Establishing connection due to activity. pppd: Connect: ppp0 <--> 8.35 pppd: Remote message: CHAP authentication success, unit 16109 pppd: Local IP address changed to 80.200.191.153 pppd: Remote IP address changed to 80.200.191.1 pppd: Script /etc/ppp/ip-up finished (pid 9706), status = 0x0 We are connected.
