Hi Karol, when I start mplayer 'play DVD', a message 'Couldn't initialize audio codec! -> nosound' shown. :( I am using CL Live value (not 5.1) with the default driver. When I issue 'mplayer -dvd' it gives: p3866:/ # mplayer -dvd Using GNU internationalization Original domain: messages Original dirname: /usr/share/locale Current domain: mplayer Current dirname: /usr/share/locale MPlayer 0.90pre6-3.2 (C) 2000-2002 Arpad Gereoffy (see DOCS!) To get best performance, recompile mplayer from sources with --disable-runtime-cpudetection Error: option 'dvd' need a parameter command line: -dvd Nothing on sound as what I can see from the output :( the default is pointed to oss. Any help? Thank you. Dennis
I am having problem on sound when using mplayer for DVD, VCD sound is ok. DVD on mplayer have the same problem, any way to help?
Could you give more substantial details, like what -kind- of sound problems on DVDs in mplayer? What audio output driver are you using? Run "mplayer -dvd" from the console and watch the messages...
e.g., [....snip other mplayer output....] AO: [alsa9] 44100Hz 2ch Signed 16-bit (Little-Endian) (2 bps)
