I have this same problem, and posted about it last month. Basically I was told 
to forget about them. I tried numorous things but they still persist, 
although with kde 3.1 I'm no longer greeted by them when i boot my computer, 
but they are still there. :-{

If you find a way to get rid of them let me know.
