Hi list,
i have an Athlon 600 Mhz (K7)
When i do:
cat /proc/version Linux version 2.4.19-4GB (root@Athlon.suse.de) (gcc version 3.2) #1 Fri Sep 13 13:19:15 UTC 2002
uname -a Linux nainitaal 2.4.19-4GB #1 Fri Sep 13 13:19:15 UTC 2002 i686 unknown
is it correct that i have no AMD optimized kernel installed?
The build host is athlon.suse.de so chances are that you have the athlon optimized kernel installed, but just to make sure, do "rpm -q k_athlon". If you get something other than "not installed", then you are running the athlon kernel.
If so would it be a big performance improvement to install one? If yes which one should i install?
If you got "not installed" above, then k_athlon.rpm would be the kernel
to install.
