RE: [SLE] Sound conversion..
When I got my new cell phone, I looked into this so I could use the midi
files for ringers. I found a couple utilities, but they were GOD
AWFUL!!! MP3's ----> MIDI try to place a musical instrument with the
sounds, and the midi ended up just being one instrument. It didn't even
really sound like the mp3 at all.

With difficulty I think. The methods used to construct sounds are very
different. AFAIK, MIDI constructs sounds from a form of musical score
and plays the 'notes' on a set of predefined instruments whereas mp3
reproduces sounds deconstructed into sine? waves and compressed.
