Hi All, Can anyone provide me with a boot disk so that I can install SuSE Linux 8.0 Professional on a Dell PowerEdge 2600? I have searched around, but can't find any pre-made ones. I have tried to make my own using the newer MegaRAID source code, but the build of the newer modules fail (and thats before I make my own driver disk and get into the 1000's of kernel versioning problems I know I will have....) The only solution I have been provided with (by three different people!) is :
Yes - we installed Red Hat V8 and all runs fine straight from the box!
Can anyone here help be get round this solution??? I believe that 8.1 works out of the box, but this increases the number of different version of SuSE we are using - something we don't want to do. I have ordered 8.1, but I need this server real soon. I have been using SuSE for two years now and think its great, but unless I can get 8.0 onto this server, it looks like its going to be RedHat :( Maybe some kind SuSE Engineer (or someone with better luck than I have with compiling driver disks!) can provide me with a boot disk for 8.0 that has the latest megaraid driver on it :) -- Thanks, Andrew McCall Internet/Linux System Administrator I.C.T.
