Codeweaver's Crossover Plugin works great with Windows Media Player, Quicktime, and more. It's not free though. What's 20 bucks anyway? :)
Is there any functional or setup difference between the free and pay versions? I downloaded and installed the demo version; it starts and displays the Windows Media window, but quits with the error message "Cannot open. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again." The "Advanced" button displays "The network connection failed. (Error=C00D0029) Cannot open. Please verify that the path and filename are correct and try again (Error=80040256)" The only other evidence is in /var/log/messages: [long line] Jan 4 21:47:30 cunning kernel: ALSA ../../../alsa-kernel/core/seq/oss/seq_oss_init.c:212: no device found I've no clue what device it's looking for, because no name is listed. What's strange is that this is a standard ALSA setup that works just fine with other Linux sound applications. Jim Cunning
