I want to do this on the the server, 192.168.2.1: mount 192.168.2.2:/usr/local /mnt but I get this: mount: RPC: Program not registered
does /usr/local have to be in /etc/exports on every client? It works fine via yast2 but it seems a long way around just to get a few files from a client. Cheers, Steve.
It seems, that something is not running I mean rpc.mountd and rpc.nfsd(you can check it with "rpcinfo -p" command) If this won't help - try restarting nfsserver: "/etc/init.d/./nfsserver restart"
I had same problem, but some part of the problem still remains - i can't force nfs to mount automatically through /etc/fstab
On the client, use Yast2 to check >system>runlevel-editor and make sure that nfsserver is planned to start in (at least) runlevel 3. It was what I was missing. I think chknfsserver on does then same thing at the command line but don't trust the latter. It was what I was missing.
