Why do we have to through all this legal illegal stuff? What is legal depends on the subjective perception of the event. Even US was formed illegaly from the British legal point of view :) If you want to play DVD - just play it, since you've paid for it. If we need to distribute a copy of software to play DVD, lets just set up a site and distribute it for free under GPL. They won't have any legal grounds to sue you 'cause you're not making any profit of it. Their laws are working only against the same money greedy bastards as they are. -------------------

No offense, but you're wrong. It is not illegal to play encrypted DVDs ore is is illegal to own or use a player that will do so. What MAY be illegal is to distribute to the public software that will allow or facilitate decrypting
You are right, thank you for the clarification (see www.opendvd.org), I am relieved; it MAY be illegal to post the software as you say, and it MAY be illegal to developed it... but apparently if you already have it... you can enjoy it... is like marihuana use in some countries... you can have it, but not sell it...
PHEWW!!!! SO I CAN PLAY MY DVD RIGHT ON JOHN ASHCROFF FACE, and not to worry... Thank you my friend for your enlightment and expertise.
