SuSE detected and installed everything automatically, including my onboard graphic card, but as I had downloaded from SiS.com, before the SuSE installation, a display driver for my onboard card (SiS 530) I make something questionable. I run a rpm command to install xsis.rpm. So, next time I rebooted the GUI didn't begin automatically, but just a prompt (text mode). Well yesterday I learned a lot about setting up SAX and XF86CONFIG :) KDE can run after being invoked at the prompt, but I should type manually "kde". GNOME is started after typing "gdm". What should I do to restore my Ximian dialog box asking for user login at start up? I have SuSE 8.0 (Gnome 1.4 and KDE 3.0) and I also have installed Ximian in my machine, a K6-II 500mhz 256ram thanks for any help a. PS-when booting i can see a gui interface a "blinking" before the prompt. it seems like my monitor couldn't support it. Should be something with XFree? (because I tried configure my Display with YaST2 on KDE, but it was not possible) -- Adagilson Batista Bispo da Silva Bibliotecário FIOCRUZ-Centro de Pesquisa Aggeu Magalhães Fone 81 3302-6524
