There should be a short DOS filename, like record~1.mp3. But I doubt that Win 3.1 can play .mp3 files. Why such an old Windows version? At least go to Win95, which is 32 bit, and lot of things that you may find not working, will. Win 98 is better, if slower, on the same machine. I do NOT recommend anything later. AAMOF, there are programs that will run on '95 that will not run on '98, altho few. Do not tempt fate! --doug At 12:33 01/01/2003 +0100, James Hatridge wrote:
HI all...
First of all I've got my burner working, thanks to everyone that's helped me with it.
Now I've got a couple of new and inproved questions <G>. First of all I'm using Xcdroast with SuSE 8.1, my burner is an old 4x machine. Here are my questions:
#1 When I try to put mp3 files on a disk with text files Xcdroast gives me
an
error. Is this not possible?
#2 To do a CD to CD burn (ie CD copy) must one (at least) CD be a real SCSI? Both of mine are IDE.
#3 I've got a CD that I burned with long file names like "Jim sings the blues.mp3" I can read these files on my Linux system. But not on my old DOS (W$3.1) system. Can this be fixed?
TIA
