i could advice an XMMS with CD-audio plugin, capable for digital CD reading (in the manner MS media player does it) -- it is called "cd-paranoia" and can be found on XMMS site. but the sound comes out to be very weird and the sound may be unstable too (depending on CD surface quality). i preffer grabbing CDs into MP3, and listening them with XMMS then.
