through without errors, but now when I try to launch eclipse i get: "No fonts found, this propably means that the fontconfig library is not correctly configured. You may need to edit the fonts.conf"
I have fonts installed,
Any ideas how to get this working ?
Isn''t there a "setfontsdir" script in the fc_2.1/fontconfig directory?
Hi again, I played around some more to try and recreate the error, and I somehow got a fix for you. Don't ask me how or why, these are the steps I took. I did recreate the problem with the message appearing "you may need to edits the fonts.conf". 1. Made a ".fonts.conf" in my homedir containing: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE fontconfig SYSTEM "fonts.dtd"> <fontconfig> <dir>/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype</dir> </fontconfig> 2. Went to the fcpackage.2_1 source directory, and as root ran the 2 scripts "fc-cache" and "fc-list". Then when I started my app (Pan-13.3) I didn't get the error and had Truetype fonts. :-) I guess before the problem got solved for me, because yast2 went and reinstalled the older versions of the glib2 and gtk2 in /usr/lib, while I thought I was using the 2.2 versions installed in /usr/local/lib. Anyways when I removed the libs from /usr/lib to force using the 2.2 versions, I got the "fonts.conf error" until I did the above steps. HTH -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
