Subject: [SLE] USB modem
i ve a USB modem Wisecom 56 k
Your USB modem has to be ACM compliant in order to run with Linux.
that it doesn t work in any serial ttyS* or /dev/modem
if so it will work as device /dev/ttyACM0
Suse 8.1 sees the modem as Thomson Electr
Windows sees it at Com 3
any idea how it ll work?
Thanx in advance
In order to find if your modem is ACM compliant, try :
modprobe acm (I suppose that the modules usbcore and usb-o(u)hci are loaded)
and edit the file /proc/bus/usb/devices
in the entries of your modem you'll see "Driver acm" if ACM compliant and
"Driner none" if not.
