Just created two new partitions on my Linux HD. Did that with Partion Magic 5 from DOS. This made two ext2 partitons. Am running SuSE 8.0 Q #1 How do I convert these partitions to ext 3 and do I need to do that?
It may be safer if you use the Partitioner module of YaST2 to create ext3 file systems on these partitions.
After their creation I added the new partitions into fstab. They are data & storage. Now, I can mount the partitions as user but cannot move any files into them.
Run # chmod a=rwxt /data /storage to change permissions. Anybody will be able to write there.
Do I need to put these new partitions in a group or something?
