I have read several ways on how to mount a sony memory stick as a harddrive and access them. However, all the howto's where regarding Sony devices that are connected via com ports. My Clié is USB and it won't let me mount it. I have followed the instructions at: http://nick.kreucher.net/clie/#Memory%20Stick but I don't have "MS import" on my Clié (I have "MS Gate" and "MS Autorun" only) also, I am using a USB connection.
I tried: mount -t vfat /dev/ttyUSB1 /media/clie (and several other /dev/ mounts)
but it errors with: mount: /dev/ttyUSB1 is not a valid block device
Anyone know how to mount this memory stick as drive when connected via USB?
If the device is a usb-mass-storage device, it'll turn up as a scsi device. My camera goes to /dev/sda1 If you check the log messages while you hotplug it (on console 10 - ctrl-alt-f10 to see it, ctrl-f7 to get back) you should either see a message containing a device specification or it'll say "not claimed by any driver". If it's not claimed then the driver either isn't installed or doesn't exist. Dylan
