Hi *,
I have a IBM T20 laptop running SuSE 8.1. I now like to get the internal modem up and running but struggle doing this. When I try to install the binary for the modem I get a "Failed dependencies" error - see below.
I grabbed the binary from http://www.heby.de/ltmodem (following the link to the SuSE binaries).
linux:/tmp # lspci -vv 00:03.1 Serial controller: Xircom Mini-PCI V.90 56k Modem (prog-if 02 [16550]) Subsystem: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 2408 Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster- SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort-
linux:/tmp #linux:/tmp # uname -r 2.4.19-4GB
linux:/tmp # rpm -i /tmp/ltmodem-kv_2.4.19_4GB-8.22a5-1.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: kernel = 2.4.19-4GB is needed by ltmodem-kv_2.4.19_4GB-8.22a5-1
Can anyone please help?
Cheers Ian
