I have a Tekram DC395 SCSI card without a BIOS and have been using an HP
CD-Writer+ 9200 on it successfully for quite a while. Recently I
acquired a working UMAX Astra 1220S SCSI scanner and hooked it up.
YaST2 recognized the scanner and listed it as being on /dev/sg0 (the cd
burner is on /dev/sr0 btw). Sane, however, has not been able to find
this scanner.
After running sane-find-scanner I get this error in /var/log/messages:

I'm using SuSE 8.1 and dual boot Win98SE. The scanner does function
correctly in Windows.
As for the scanner being on /dev/sg0, prior to attaching it I've had
issues with some cd burning programs because they kept looking for my
burner on /dev/sg0 instead of /dev/sr0. Could SANE be confusing the
burner and the scanner?
