Thanks for everybody who's tried to help me;)
All that I had to do was to delete the configuration I created.
Then recreate it from Yast2 setup including the WEP string 26 bit.
btw ; all values below are fictitious so replace with your own.. --------- In the Wireless screen use :
Operating Mode = AD-HOC
Network Name ESSID = Careless
Network Identifier = Monkey
Encryption Key = B0DE-3FD1-F3A4-AB0E-AB0A-B1BE-A1
Nickname = Monkey ---------
In The Routing Configuration:
Default Gateway = 192.168.0.1
---------
In the Network Address Setup:
Network Device = eth-pcmcia-0
Static Address setup
IP Address = 192.168.0.20
Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0 ---------
After doing the above it still didn't work until the SuSE team told me that, the firmware did not support adhoc IBSS mode (only adhoc demo mode). So I downloaded the upgraded firmware from Netgear's site and did the relevant upgrade, btw their instructions are not very verbose so be careful.

Many thanks to SuSE support team and all the others who helped;) If I didn't get help from this list & SuSE I would have been stuck to using Winblow$.
