Ok I got into Open Office,,
But I can't help thinking all is not well.

Hi All When I installed Open Office in Linux I installed it in the wrong place like /home and /usr/local and then it would not run correct, so I deleted the files.
then when reinstalling put it in /opt instead off /opt/openoffice, I was in hurry and made a mistake
so then I deleted the files to start the install again, now when I start the install it says it is all ready installed and to run the files I deleted
How can I start over fresh, it seems the only way to fix it is too alter the system registry.
System Registry? Linux don't have that flaw as far as I know. :-) Anyway, look in the home directory of the user you used to install OpenOffice with. There should be a file .sversionrc Or just search your while system for that file. This file indicates which OpenOffice or StarOffice is installed and where for that user. Delete this file or remove the invalid lines from it.
