I just got around to upgrading my desktop SUSE 8.0 system to 8.1, and I discovered that now I can't mount CD's. I went to the SDB, and followed the directions to add cdrom and ide-cd to the initrd, ran mk_initrd, ran lilo, rebooted. I still can't mount CD-ROMs, only now the error message is mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom, or too many mounted file systems ...where before it said mount: /dev/cdrom - no such file or directory ...this is a driver CD delivered with a Belkin UPS I just purchased. I was successful in mounting and reading it under 8.0 (It actually includes a fairly robust upsd implementation for Linux!) Just for a sanity check, I just tried to mount the SuSE 8.1 CD#1, and it was successful, so it must have something to do with the format of the belkin CD. If this isn't iso9660, what might it be?
