wath paket for wath suse

hello lsit,
a fundamental question:
how ore where i see wath packet can i install for wath suse-version
example: when i use suse 7.0 i want to install the newest openldap-server
1. possibility: go to the suse ftp-site, under suse 7.0 and look for the newest
openldap-rpm
2. possibility: i get the newest rpm maybe from suse 8.0 and trie to install,
if works fine, if not i try the rpm from suse 7.3 ...
other possibilitys ??
