Can't get spell checker to work in Evolution 1.2

I installed Evolution 1.2 from Ximian a couple days ago. I just tried
using the spell checker and it won't work. I go to GnomeCC and click
Configure Spell and it tells me to install Gnome spell. I have Gnome
spell, aspell, pspell installed.
I'm stuck.
