If I'm not mistaken, the server part is just for NFS. I would recommend mounting the SMB server (i.e., your windows box) and simply specifying the install directory. i.e., smbmount //Dell-server-s3a/SOFTWARE/SuSE 8.0/suse /tmp/share ...of course, you might have to specify more info such as username, password, or ip address. After multple crashes of Yast while an online update (and no feed back from the mailing list :( ) I've decided to copy the SuSE 8.0 Source to my server (windows) then change my source medioum to SMB. The source of my media Is '\\Dell-server-s3a\SOFTWARE\SuSE 8.0\suse' now Yast requires a server and a directory. How should this be entered ? I've tried server '192.168.1.10' with the directry '\SOFTWARE\SuSE 8.0\suse' I've also tried without software. What is the proper sytax. My linux machine already has samba installed and working....
