which kind of implies that yes, 3D is what I'm looking for. I'm not about to
pay another $125 "just to play tuxracer" (or any of the other 3d titles I
have for linux, like Rune, Unreal, etc.) so the Xi "solution" is currently
not on the horizon. Fortunately, I can switch to other computers (or OS's)
to get my "gaming fix", so for now the standard "radeon" driver supplied
w/8.1 will have to do. [and yes, it works just fine, just no 3D support]
