Hi again.
Had a look in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Here only the hdd drive is set to scsi. I think I also have to set the hdc to scsi ?.
kernel (hd0,2)/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3 hdd=ide-scsi vga=791 apic.
Thanks again Anders.
Not in 8.1. In 8.1 the regular ide-cd driver is compiled as a module. This means that whichever driver gets loaded first will claim all drives as its own unless you explicitly tell it otherwise. Since you load the ide-scsi driver above, both your drives will be scsi.
Ok. I had the idea, but doubted when I saw the line in the menu.lst file.
In previous versions, the ide-cd module was compiled into the kernel, so drives were "by default" ide-cd, but this behaviour changed in 8.1. Don't ask me why :)
Ok.
You can verify this by doing "cdrecord -scanbus". If you can see both your drives there they are both ide-scsi
I can se both drives :-)
