I've compiled the RPMs for it and they are already posted.

Thanks Karol, I have bookmarked that URL and will be downloading it as soon as it gets posted. I am really looking forward to trying out the ATAPI thing.
Tell me how it goes, and how well it works. Maybe there's some way I can make it easier.
Karol, I downloaded your rpm's and installed them. After fighting to get the SCSI stuff disabled I got it to erase a rewriteable in my Yamaha 8424. Worked like a charm from the command line. I ended up using the command: cdrecord dev=ATAPI:0,0,0 blank=all Like Harry said, I had to play with the ATAPI thing til it worked. Then I went to Koncd, Xcdroast, and Kreatecd to see if the front ends worked with the new cdrecord. Short answer is nope! It kept looking for the scsi interface and I havent quite figured out where the config files are stored so I can try to modiy them. It would be nice to get one of them going. Am I just dumb or can I really expect to find a way to make one of them to work with atapi? Anyway, thanks for the rpms. They worked fine from the start. And Harry, if you are following this I need a little help to get a front end to work. Any suggestions? best regardsto both, Richard
