Ed, Had this once on an OLD OLD drive and I think the fix was to remove "lba32" from /etc/lilo.conf and re-run lilo. If my memory is wrong the folks here will soon remind me. Of course, you'll need to boot from the CD and run "installed system" to get to that point :o) Let me know if my memory is out to lunch. Damian
