Some stuff went wrong when I used YOU to upgrade to KDE 3.0.4:
- When I logged in to KDE a lot of applications I had open before logout poped up. I did not want KDE to save the last session, and unchecked that box. How can I prevent the startup of these apps?
- I was greeted by the Gnome desktop after login! Even the Gnome Start Here icon was there. And all my usual icons on the desktop were gone. I tried to reboot but it did not help. I then reinstalled all the 3.0.3 packages, and that at least gave me back the KDE desktop, but still with the Gnome icons, and none of the original ones like CD-R and stuff.
Does anyone have any answers to this peculiar problem?
shut down the applications. run "killall nautilus" (and any other gnome programs that may be running), and log out of kde, anc check the "save session" box when you do. Next time you login, things should be back to normal. regards Anders
